Benefits of Webmail There are basically two ways you can check and deal with your email messages. Most users use an email program like Outlook Express. The other method we offer is called webmail, which is similar to how Hotmail works. Webmail is gaining in popularity due to its many advantages. You use your web browser (Internet Explorer) to view and manipulate your messages on our server. This approach has some good benefits. You can access your messages (both new and old) from any computer with internet access. You can check them from work, while traveling, etc and can always have your contacts and old messages available. Another benefit is you are never really "downloading" the messages to your computer. You are simply viewing them as a web page so any message that may contain a hidden virus will not be downloaded to your computer. If you have a computer crash, your messages are not lost because they reside on our server. You can use webmail and Outlook Express together. Let's say you still use Outlook Express at home but want to check your email while at work. Simply go to our website and use webmail to check your messages. One thing to keep in mind is once you use Outlook to check your messages, it downloads them from our server to your computer so when you use webmail, you will not have access to any messages that have already been downloaded by Outlook. To log onto Webmail If you want to start using webmail, it is as easy as going to our website http://www.wavewls.com and clicking on the "Check WAVE Email" button on the left. You will be directed to a login screen, where you will enter your user name. Enter the first part of your email address (everything before the @) and your email password where requested. How to blacklist and whitelist senders To blacklist a sender, do the following: While logged into the webmail, click on the message from the sender you wish to blacklist. This will open the message. You will then see a toolbar in the middle of the screen with several selections. One choice will be a red arrow pointing up. Simply click on that arrow. You will then be asked to confirm the blacklist selection. Click on "ok" and you will have blacklisted that sender. To whitelist a sender do the following: The message you wish to receive should be in your spam folder. Click on the message to open it. Then you will click on the green checkmark on the toolbar. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to whitelist this sender. Click "ok" and all future messages from that sender should go to your inbox. This is beneficial for emails like order confirmations, etc. These types of messages often look like spam because they are sent out automatically by machines sending several thousand messages per day just like spammers. If you have not used the webmail, I encourage you to give it a try. It certainly makes dealing with spam much easier. |
